Caribbean weather is slightly cooler than other Caribbean island groups owing to the proximity to the continental North American cold air systems. Clothing adequate for Caribbean weather includes lightweight or tropical, cottons all year round. Light raincoats are useful, since Caribbean weather has a wet season. Caribbean weather temperatures average around 20°C (68°F) during the winter season, and 30°C (86°F) during the summer. Caribbean weather presents a fairly high humidity, particularly in the summer.
