Caribbean ferry

Caribbean ferry - fast and nice

Caribbean ferry is foranyone. If you're of an adventurous frame of mind, and have time to spare, you can revert to the mode of transportation that islanders used before the advent of air travel: Caribbean ferry and the traditional mailboats.

Although fast, modern, air-conditioned Caribbean ferry now make some of the trips, some of the more remote destinations are still served by slow, old-fashioned craft with few amenities. Within the $loc ferry, it has the most, and most comfortable, options for island-hopping, that offer food and beverages served by cabin attendants.

Caribbean ferry advices

As with most things in the Caribbean, schedules do change rather frequently; if you're planning to Caribbean ferry back to an island check and double-check the departure times, and build in extra time in case the weather's bad.

Caribbean ferry serve most of the major tourist destinations from Caribbean. The ferry costs around $110 one-way, and takes about two hours each way.

Usually, the shorter-haul ferry makes several round-trips daily, and keep a more punctual schedule than the longer-haul ferry.

Caribbean ferry - a good transportation choice

Travelers in the Caribbean will find that ferries and boats are not only the best way to get from island to island, but also one of the most enjoyable ways to get around in the Caribbean. The sea is the only thing connecting each of the islands of the Caribbean to the other, and boats are the way many people cross between them. Ferries often offer island-hopping tours that take travelers to see several different locales. This gives travelers the ability to experience a full spectrum of the cultures, foods, and people of the Caribbean, and often chances to shop for each isle's local specialties as well. Ferries are also used to get from island to island in nations like the Bahamas that are composed of multiple islands. Ferries travel between the mainland, U.S., Mexico, and South America, and the Caribbean. Reaching some smaller islands may be easiest by ferry. Transport of a car or rental car by ferry may be possible, but you will likely need to book this service in advance. Many ferries act like short cruises, offering movies, snacks, drinks, and trips to several islands. When island hopping, make sure to carry a valid passport. Each time you enter a new island nation you will need to pass through customs. You may consider chartering a boat--with or without a captain and crew--for more private island hopping. While yachts are sure to be available, some islands are better known for their sailing than others. Depending on where you charter your boat or ferry, there are several well-traveled island chains that you may enjoy, including the Leeward Islands from Antigua to St. Martin, and The Windward Islands and Grenadines. You can also charter a small boat for a brief jaunt out into the ocean or for a trip to a secluded spot for an afternoon picnic. Sunset cruises offer visitors a one-of-a-kind view of a Caribbean sunset. If you'd like to see the Caribbean's famous coral reefs, but prefer not to dive or snorkel, glass-bottomed boat rides are a delightful Caribbean diversion. For solo adventurers, kayaks may also be available.
